Developed by CygNet Software, Inc. in 1999, a company founded by Chuck Drobny and focused on providing software solutions for the oil and gas industry.
Over the years, CygNet Software continued to enhance and expand the capabilities of the CygNet SCADA system, incorporating advancements in technology and addressing evolving industry requirements. The platform became known for its robustness, scalability, and ability to integrate with various data sources and systems within oil and gas production environments.
In 2011, Weatherford International acquired CygNet Software, Inc. This acquisition allowed Weatherford to strengthen its portfolio of oilfield technologies and expand its capabilities in real-time data management and visualization for the oil and gas industry.
